Tuesday...
Feeling very hyped up, excited and motivated now and all day....I realise that I have been feeling so for quite some time....
This NOC program is really going to be a life-changing time of my life as always advertised by the dept back in NUS....It REALLY is....even though I'm onli 2.5mths into the entire 1yr thingy, I already feel so different....
Bear with me and my overflowing zest and enthusiasm now....
I am so in the heart of almost everything here...
Work
To just mention briefly again, the international nature of my company's rapidly growing business is so exciting that I am constantly motivated to want to play bigger and bigger roles in it...
There seems to be an unlimited amount of knowledge and skills that I can pick up from here, from my colleagues, from the inherent nature of high-tech startups...esp in the context of US....
Studies
Studying in UPenn is exciting too...I am meeting new students and making new friends all the time and I have the chance to be in a proj grp with 3 other Americans....Also, the courses here are taught in different styles as that of NUS, and so it is also an eye-opener for me...
Events
Firstly, being the head of a small subcomm for the organizing of the major event here, I am not only responsible for the logistics but I have also been actively helping in collaboration, publicity and some aspects of sponsorship...to be honest, I was kinda sceptical about the event initially but now, it is another motivating factor for me as my teammates and I are gaining ground....Watch out NUS, this is going to be a reali big event and news and updates and even video clips of it will eventually be broadcasted in Singapore....
And then there are the talks, seminars, conferences....I have been attending many of them...like at least 1 or 2 per week...and i have learnt a great deal out of them....there have been technical ones such as that Future Salon talk on Nano-Tech presented by a MIT PhD, Science Center talk on Business Plan Writing, Professional trade mission talks, etc by the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia (where I am in the ABPIS Program and so am invited), monthly talks on entrepreneurship related topics organised by the Entrepreneurship Forum of Greater Philadelphia (EFGP), and in the latest of events, I attended a really useful workshop on Reading People organised by the Fox Leadership in UPenn tonite....
Networking has been a great part of all these events too and I am gradually but surely learning how to do so successfully....
it's a reali big paragraph I noe....but I am so so so so motivated to learn, to absorb as much as possible that is being laid out in front of me....that i wish i have 50hrs a dae instead of 24....
and even as I speak, there are many more events, competitions, and opportunities awaiting me....yes! Opportunities in abundance!!! Wah, I'm feeling ultra excited and enthu again....
I am also thinking of participating in a global competition...well, I wun say much till I have made up my mind... =)
And I haven't even mentioned the Travel yet! I just purchased the air tickets for the Great Smoky Mountain National Park trip during Thanksgiving Hols! It set me back by $245 just for the air tix alone but it's going to be a reali great time! Will start planning for the itinerary soon....
and I will start planning for my long Christmas and New Year holiday trip too...cos i intend to take a few days off from work and enjoy myself...
With all the learning and fun opportunities....tell me, do I even want to sleep?
NO! I certainly do not want to miss out even a second of my time here if I possibly can (but i can't of cos)....hahz....
I am so so Zapped! Ultra big ZAP!
I noe some of the stuff here is kinda repeated but well, let this post be a general and brief summary of the common question friends ask me nowadays, 'How have you been?'
the 1 sentence answer can onli be 'It has never been better!'....
I will be back a different person next year....I wanna return as a super-upgraded version of the Jinfa who flew to US on 7/7 this year....
and I will...mark my words....I wanna make it big here, now, in future, in Singapore and everywhere, always....
