Tuesday...
i woke up tis morning with aching pecs and triceps.....awww.....i juz came back frm a 5km run, where along the way, every leap and every step i took further amplified the ache....
aniwaiz....
i tried to do some more module mapping to UPenn.....it's reali a very complex procedure....i still got alot of ground to cover, alot of research to do.....right now i've onli got 3 modules approved, and in order to safeguard my own interests and to be able to graduate within 4yrs, i need to make sure dat out of these 3 modules, i can clear 2 of them.....
which is why i'm trying to find more modules to map....and most likely hav to be discipline based ones....
i had a late lunch at abt 3.....thereafter i went to the temple at Waterloo Street to pray....
i'm not sure why, but i felt more confident todae den my usual self on typical daes....hahaz....
Was it cos of my near perfect peripheral vision provided by my new pair of permanent contact lenses?
Or was it cos of the sensation of my t-shirts getting tighter as a result of my fitness regime?
hahaz, maybe yah....or maybe juz a combination of many other factors.....
but as i walk arnd, i felt the air of confidence....which is good.....but again, confidence doesn't equate to complacence or arrogance.....yupz....i am very serious abt dat.....
I changed into my running gear as soon as i reached home.....did some warmups and stretching before i headed downstairs for my run....
Coincidentally, the running gear i grabbed todae was the one given to me when i represented RSAF in a competition abt 3yrs back when i was still in ns....
12 runners were selected frm the 4 airbases in singapore.....and i managed to get into the team after some time trials....well, i certainly wasn't one of the fastest in the team as there were a few who clocked under 9mins for their 2.4km runs....there was tis guy, a regular, who ran under 8:30mins....i rem his name, Alex....a nice guy who was a regular at one of the squadrons....
in stark contrast, my best ever timing was onli 9:18mins....
well, it was a passing baton race, each runner to run 2km....and it was held at Marina Bay Park....i tink i was one of the last few runners.....and as the baton was passed to me by my teammate....i dashed off the line like a bunny would react to a carrot dangling in front of it.....
before i was even halfway through the 2km course, an OCS cadet had oredi overtaken me.....damn tis cadets....they r reali fast, and i rem he was an indian guy....tall, skinny and had long, lanky legs....but well, they run every morning....so i knew i definitely wasn't their match....
Our Air Force team didn't do very well at the race which was largely dominated by the infantry teams....mainly by those represented by Commandos, Naval Diver Unit (NDU) and OCS.....they got all the top spots....
Well, nevertheless, it was still some experience....to be able to run and compete with some of the fastest runners in SAF back den....
todae, my fitness is a far cry frm then.....it'll take alot of hard work and training to get back to dat kind of standards but i don tink i'll wan to put in so much commitment....healthy and fit can oredi....no need to be some ultra-fitness crazy maniac like in the past....
dat said, maybe i'll still try for ippt gold again....but no pressure though....silver and $200 will be fine too....
===========================================================================
ohh yah, i saw tis 2 cute children reading Asterix and Obelix comics on the mrt juz now....i was looking ever so fondly at them cos they reminded me of myself when i was their age......obsessed with Asterix comics...and oso Tintin comics....
alwaiz running to the library with my frens in pri sch to see who can get the 'rare' comics first and den hide them so dat we can go back and borrow after school....hahaz.....damn fun.....and i tink i muz hav read the entire series a few times.....
those were the daes....yah.....more den a decade ago......i can't believe i'm going to be 23 tis yr oredi.....seems like yesterdae i was juz in secondary school....
well....aniwaiz...it's dinnertime soon..... =)
