Small Celebratory punches of the air...Nadal..... *salutez*
Sunday...
Nadal and Federer
i simply couldn't resist the temptation to post another entry shortly after doing so juz a couple of hrs ago....the reason?
i'm feeling so fired up right now i feel like exploding with excitement and the familiar gargle of energy within my entire body and mind.....
Previously, juz the weekend before, Arsenal had me fired up with their burst into the 4th spot in the EPL and together with their hard work throughout the entire season, the rewards they have gained were just inspirational....Champions league final showdown with one of the best clubs in the world, Barcelona....and getting a champions league qualification spot on the final dae....it says alot abt tis north london club i've supported since pri 6, which had to struggle on numerous occasions tis season with their player problems.....
Still, Arsenal's burst dat saturday was a lesser achievement compared to that i have juz witnessed the past hour...
===================================================================
Rafael Nadal....in case anyone doesn't noe him....is a young Spanish tennis player....I first noticed him when he powered past world no.1, Roger Federer, in last year's French Open.....
Tonite's final wasn't a Grand Slam, but nevertheless, any tournament's championship means alot to any tennis player.....With Nadal seeking to defend his title and to maintain his 52match unbeaten streak on clay, it was definitely a showcase of 2 world-class talents playing at their very best....
Well, lemme go into the story....
By the time i switched to dat channel, it was oredi the beginning part of the 5th and deciding set...Throughout that crucial deciding last set, Nadal was ALWAIZ constantly under mounting levels of pressure because he was trailing all the while....It wasn't once, wasn't twice and definitely more than 3 times when i eyewitnessed the coming back of Nadal when it seemed impossible for him to do so!
At 1 point in time, Federer even had 2 championship points! can u imagine the pressure Nadal was constantly under?
But wat reali impressed me, inspired me and earned my utmost respect for Nadal was not onli his balls of steel but oso his never-say-die attitude....he was a perfect epitome of the kind of 'never-give-up' attitude in this finals...Everytime he was starting to get back into the game with a perfect forehand volley or winner, he would punch the air and excitedly jump around the baseline to motivate himself.....
What he might not hav realised is that his little celebrations hav caused many spectators and viewers around the world like me to be as motivated and as excited as he was.....one simply wun be able to imagine it unless u were watching this guy....
Nadal was simply phenomenal....and even phenomenal might be an understatement.....he overcame all odds, he circumvented all kinds of problems, he remain unfazed when the world no. 1 juz opposite him was threatening to end the match once and for all, he constantly motivated himself and endured a mental battle which he won over Federer and which I believe is wat caused the latter the match.....
Even if Nadal has lost the match, i would still hav accorded him the kind of respect i hav for him now.....Yes, respect has to be earned, and he has reali earned it from me.....I jumped out of my seat in joy when he got the winner, and at that same instant, i could feel the intense feeling of joy he was feeling and exuding....when he shed the few tears of joy, i could understand why so too.....
I was touched.....reali.....

Perhaps digressing slightly, I tink back on a question Isabelle asked me when we went out juz last saturday....she knows dat I'm a very driven person but on dat occasion, i guess i was even more excited and motivated than my normal self...and she asked me tis qns.....
Isabelle: where do u get this kind of energy?
Me: well, from setting small goals for myself along the way and achieving them, celebrating them and continuously do so, and in the process, boost my self-esteem, self-confidence and remain motivated all the time....
Now, i've realised another reason.....it is ppl like Nadal who are so highly influential on my self-motivating actions....it is his spirit and his attitude which inspires me so much......it is exactly the same kind of belief which he epitomised that convince ppl anywhere in the world that dreams can be realised and made alive by the kind of never-say-die attitude which i've alwaiz been so respectful of....and which i've alwaiz been espousing and trying to live by.....
it is tis kind of spirit, attitude, belief and it is tis kind of ppl, Nadal, in tis case, who inspires me everydae.....Everytime i encounter any kind of difficulty, I alwaiz practise self-motivation.....yes....it's true, i reali do so, thru positive self-talk and postive mental imagery......i did not attend any kind of motivational courses before.....i wasn't taught to do so.....but i guess i was alwaiz inspired and motivated by ppl like Nadal tonite...and it is the same kind of motivation which is so crucial for continued pursuits for our goals, our dreams.....
He is simply phenomenal tonite....Surely, his attitude was the key and was largely instrumental for his eventual win and thereby extending his consecutive winning streak on clay to 53 games......an impressive record even Pete Sampras would have been proud of.....
At a tender age of 19, world no.2 Nadal has alot more to show the world....and i'm convinced dat with tis attitude of his, the world is his oyster.....
===========================================================================
wow.....i'm still like 'WOW'......basking in the euphoria which Nadal had created for himself as well as his supporters alike....
