Wednesday...

today was an important day for my company...We had a major prospective client visiting and trying to fix up a deal....GE Money....it shld be familiar to those in business, technology or who are working now....basically, it's the finance dept ppl frm General Electric...

I am actually looking forward to going back to work almost everyday...it's not something which i had previously felt before in any temp/hol job...i guess it is the anticipation of not knowing wat i'll be involved in the next day....like i had mentioned, even the CFO, CCO etc have to sometimes order stationery and do simple thgs lydat....
it's kinda exciting working in a startup....cos i've been given quite abit of autonomy to make decisions....
like for eg, when the CFO comes up to me and wants me to do sth, he lets me decide how to do it....and doesn't instruct me....or give me a set of orders to rigidly follow...

I'm oredi imagining myself sitting alongside the CEO and other top management ppl, presenting my proposal to them and taking full charge of some major project....hahaz...i hope dat will come soon....

sth like the CEO saying...."hey Melvin, good job on the marketing proposal, i'll let u be in charge of it solely"...

whoooooo....when dat happens, i'll be jumping in excitement....
ohh aniwaiz, my christian name is Melvin....i guess most of my frens do not noe...hahaz...cos i seldom use it....but in America, i hav to.....they have problems pronouncing my chinese name....

************************************************************************************

i had my best homecooked dinner in America to date tonite....
fettucinne with cabonara cheese sauce, boiled potatoes, tomatoes, mushrooms and sausage! and with OJ!
it was super delicious and 3 of us ate a serving comfortable for 5 persons! so u can imagine how bloated i am now...slurrpp....
i'm actually quite keen on improving my culinary skills....it's interesting doing the shopping urself and cooking anythg u wan....or experimenting... =)

Another interesting traffic thingy abt America....most motorcyclists don have to wear helmets....i was very surprised the first few times i saw....after asking my colleagues....they said that there's a certain law which stipulates that one with a motorbike license for more than 'x' no. of yrs are excused frm helmets...
wat nonsense is dat....so dangerous man.....

hmm, sth else....the last few daes, it has been hotter than in Singapore....with temperatures in the day reaching like 34, 35 deg C.....terrible....waiting for the bus under the evening sun, i could feel my skin being baked, so dry and burning....
even a Singaporean who has lived near the equator for 22yrs cant take it.....not to mention the Americans...

well...time for my emails....and gotta prepare my lunch for tmr again later....
nitez...

i will be a great chef by the time i return next july!
will cook for my fam when they visit me later tis yr =)
